History of PCLS

In 1914 the Park County Commissioners appointed the first board to form the Park County Library System. In 1916 a Carnegie Library was built in Cody and Librarian Mabel Wilkinson arrived to become the County Librarian for Park County. From this start a wonderful Park County Library System was created, with 3 libraries located in Cody, Meeteetse, and Powell.

PCLS Foundation

The Park County Library Foundation is a private 501(c)3, tax exempt entity composed of a board of up to 20 directors whose collective interest is to assist the library through its fund raising activities. Board members are ordinary citizens, professional and business leaders, and/or influential members of the community who devote their time and energy to further the well-being of the Park County Library System.
