Powell Library Summer Reading 2026

From covered wagons and cornhusk dolls to observatory programs and Oregon Trail adventures, Powell’s Summer Reading Program brings history to life in exciting and interactive ways.

How Summer Reading Works

Readers of all ages can participate in Summer Reading from June 1 through July 17.

Reading Logs

Participants are encouraged to read at least:

  • 15 minutes a day

  • 5 days each week

Bring your reading log into the library each week to:

  • receive a stamp

  • earn weekly prizes

  • track your summer reading progress

Prize Drawings

For every book read, participants earn a ticket to enter into prize drawings. The more you read, the more chances you have to win!
