It’s that time of year again! Both the Powell and Cody Libraries are celebrating the season with Literary Pumpkin displays! This fun activity invites readers of all ages to bring their creativity to life by decorating pumpkins or gourds inspired by their favorite book, character, or author.
At each library, participants can drop off their decorated pumpkins starting Monday, October 27th through Friday, October 31st. The pumpkins will be displayed throughout the week, creating a festive, bookish atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
There are a few differences between the two libraries:
Powell Library is adding a bit of friendly competition. Patrons will have the chance to vote for their favorite pumpkin on Halloween. Be sure to pick up your pumpkin by November 3rd, or it will be discarded.
Cody Library is keeping things purely playful and decorative. The focus is on filling the library with fun literary-inspired pumpkins, with no voting involved. All pumpkins should be picked up by November 1st.
Bring your pumpkin, show off your creativity, and help us celebrate the magic of reading this Halloween!
